Education & Publications
Amber Morrison earned her Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing from the University of Texas at El Paso. Her department honored her as the Outstanding Graduating Senior in Creative Writing for the undergraduate class of 2014. She published three pieces during her college years: one short story in a college online newspaper, a ethnographic journalism story for the acclaimed literary magazine Borderzine, and a poem in Hometown, Texas, an anthology compiled by 2010 Texas Poet Laureate Karla K. Morton.
Professional Writing |
Amber secured a writing internship before she graduated college. From there she's gained experience in writing copy, writing for the web, reporting, and editing and proofreading. She creates her own ideas, such as her #WritersLife series on her blog; co-writes stories with other team members, including survivor stories found on American Heart Association News; and produces work based solely on the needs of the company, much like her copy written for SGHQ and Beth's Wine Designs.
Amber is also skilled in editing, and her experience ranges from developmental, line, and copy editing from her years as a peer reviewer and her time as an academic writing tutor for El Paso Community College and an instructional associate in writing for Tarrant County College. |

In September 2014, Amber started her author's blog now called The Blonde Writer. Averaging 3,000 monthly views, she participates in weekly blog memes, reviews young adult novels, and updates her readers on her experiences in writing, publishing, and reading.
